Forever My Girl The Beaumont Series Volume 1 Heidi McLaughlin Books

So, some people read or hear about a book and think, “That would make a great movie.” I, on the other hand, see a good movie trailer and think, “That would make a great book. Wonder if it started that way.” And that, my friends, is how I happened across Forever My Girl, and I am so freaking glad I did.

This book is amazing. I actually listened to it on audio, and it was so well done. I fell in love with the characters instantly. Liam and Josie were high school sweethearts. They had their lives all planned out...until one decision changed everything. After ten years, Liam is forced to return for a funeral, but can he really leave again once he finds out what all he left behind? Can Josie ever forgive him for leaving in the first place? Does she even want to try now that she’s moved on?

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I love a well written second chance love story. However, I am also very critical of second chance stories. So often, characters come back and expect to just pick right back up where things left off with a simple apology. Clearly the one they left behind has been pining for them and simply awaiting their arrival. This seems so far fetched to me, so I just can’t buy in. This story, however, goes so much deeper than that. Not only did I love Josie and Liam’s backstory, I loved that there was so much to discover about what really happened throughout the story. My heart broke for these characters. I hated how bad they had both been hurt, but I loved when they were together.

It was completely apparent to me that Josie and Liam belonged together. They both completely lit up when they were near one another. However, their story was so complex. Josie had built a life for herself. Deciding to take Liam back would change everything, and trust can’t be gained automatically. However, I loved that Liam understood this and continued to prove himself worthy time and time again. I can’t even tell you the number of swoon-worthy moments.

Beyond Liam and Josie, there was a cast of fantastic characters. Some I loved, and some I loved to hate. Tragedy may have struck Katelyn and her family, but she was such a fantastic friend and mom. I loved the relationship she had with both Liam and Josie. She was also so strong. While things were falling apart, she held things together for her girls. I can’t wait to see how her story with Harrison unfolds! I also absolutely loved the kids in this story. They were very endearing and real.

While this was my first book by Heidi McLaughlin, it won’t be my last! I highly recommend checking it out!

Forever My Girl The Beaumont Series Volume 1 Heidi McLaughlin Books Reviews

I absoloutely loved this book.
It is my favorite second chance romance.

Josie and Liam were highschool sweethearts, and then for reasons unknown at the time Liam left Josie.

Fast forward 10 years and they haven't seen each other or spoken. In that time Liam has become a famous rock star and Josie stayed in their small hometown.

They each have secrets of their own but their love is still just as strong as it was when Liam up and left.

It takes awhile to warm up to Liam but overall this book gave me all the feels and left me wanting more more more.

This was my first Heidi McLaughlin book and I cannot wait to see what else she has for us all
On March 4, 2013 I fell in love with Liam and Josie. Not just them, but their story. It was real and it was raw. It had me gasping with tears in my eyes. There were so many emotions and feelings that occurred in this story.
Liam is back after being gone for many years. Before he left, he was meant to be a NFL player, but his heart was not in it leaving his true love, Josie, behind to go pursue something he felt was right. Fast forward, Liam is in a band, but the news of his closest bud dying in a car accident makes him come back to his hometown to face is past.
Josie, is a strong woman. She had to pick her self up after realizing that she was pregnant and alone. She is now a business owner of an adorable shop and has the best of friends. When Liam enters her life again she does not know what to do. Her heart is very much in love with him, but she has someone else now. Someone who wouldn't leave her.
This book kept me on my toes throughout the whole thing. I fell hard for not only Liam and Josie, but the rest of the band and Katelyn.

I read this one awhile back and after watching the trailer for the upcoming movie ...I decided a re-read was a MUST ...you'll fall in love with these characters and their stories ... Really looking forward to the movie...recommended reads!
Forever My Girl is the first book of the Beaumont series which is my absolute favorite series. You meet Liam Westbury the football star turned Liam Page the Rockstar, how he got there and his journey back home to reclaim the girl he never stopped loving. It's a beautiful story about following your dreams, second chances, and the importance of family and the fact that family is who you make of it. These characters are written in a way that I feel like I know them, I can feel every emotion they are feeling. You fall in love with these characters and will want to read the rest of the series and stay in Beaumont forever. They are now a part of me and will stay in my heart. I highly recommend this book and the whole series!
I purchased this book years ago and it’s sat on my kindle, just waiting for me to tackle my enormous TBR. I wanted to read the book before the movie comes out because as we all know, usually the book is better.

I really liked the premise of the story. I’m a sucker for second chances and this one got off to a great start. I liked that the death of a friend is what brought them back together, and the resulting flashbacks to the history that their small town group shared. I just wish I liked the characters better. Josie was a bit of a doormat and Liam was a jerk. The push and pull between them and the way they handled angst of abandonment and secrets was a little juvenile. By your mid to late 20s you kind of have the hang of this adulting thing, especially given the challenges they each faced.

I was a bit shocked to see so many grammar and spelling errors, given that the book has been adapted for the big screen. I would have expected the book to maybe have been a little more polished, especially given that more readers are probably going to be picking up the book after seeing the movie. I’ll definitely go and see the film and I’m glad I got to experience the author’s vision for the story, and it will be interesting to see what liberties Hollywood has taken with its script.
