I wanted to love it...I really did. However, the characters are implausible, the story line is cookie cutter to so many other Christmas books. I loved both of the "Mrs. Miracle's" and honestly wish that story line had continued. While I applaud using a dyslexic heroine, so many things that would have been difficult for her were "washed over" in the book. If she really is dyslexic, show the struggle. The time line is difficult to understand and the reasoning for her taking one college class in 6 years and then graduating isn't really doing justice to her back story. I love Debbie Macomber and have been an avid reader (and will continue to be) however this book seemed rushed and too quick to tie things up without much of a reason to do so.

This is not the first book that I have read of Debbie Macomber's so this book had a lot to live up to. Especially in comparison of her previous two Mrs. Miracle books that Debbie has written. It was a good but not great book. I thought that she did a great job of keeping with theme of guardian angels and a mission for them to complete here on earth. She also did a great job developing the characters and the scenery so you really felt like you were actually there.

In addition, I think that she also did a great job of introducing new characters in addition to the main two characters Addie and Erich. These new characters were interesting and I wanted to read more about them so I am hoping she has more planned for them in future books.

The only down side that made this book good and not great was that I felt it did not end right. I felt like the book was too short. I don't know why but it just felt like there was more that could have been written. It didn't seem like there was a proper ending in the book for Addie and Erich. Debbie left you hanging which is good if she plans to continue them in the next book but I am not sure she is going to.

All in all this was a good Christmas story that had friendship, faith and romance all rolled into one. It is definitely a book that I would recommend to my friends and family.
I like Macomber's Christmas stories and Mr Miracle was no exception. It was sweet and winsome. I do have to admit that with this book, I watched the movie before I read the book. The book is of course much better than the movie, although I will forever see Harry Mills as he was portrayed in the movie....argh. C'est la vie!

Debbie Macomber has done it again. In the tradition of Mrs. Miracle, she has written a wonderful angel story of Harry Mills, an angel who has always wanted to come to earth to help those in need. His wish is granted and he is to help Addie Folsom, to get her back on track.

Addie comes back home and wants to finish school to get her degree. What she doesn't know is that her long time crush, Erich Simmons lives next door. He has been in an accident and she, to help her mother and his mother, takes care of him. Addie begins to realize (with Harry's help) that she and Erich have more in common than she realizes.

This story has its humor as well as romance and the help of angels. You have to laugh as well as cry as you read the story. Debbie Macomber has become one of my favorite authors and she doesn't disappoint me with this story.
