♦️HERO: Oliver "Twist" Santiago, 30(ish)--Tattoo artist at House of Payne, specializing in dark, gothic art. Ex-con, spent four years behind bars for the beating of the man that tortured his little sister. Blames himself for what his sister had to endure. Big, dark, rough, no-nonsense, pain-in-the-butt, and extremely protective of those he cares about, which includes Angel. He adores her and is extremely sweet and loving, once she finally wakes up and accepts it.
"I’m hoping you’re going to open those beautiful eyes of yours and see what the hell’s in front of you… Me."

♦️HEROINE: Angel Taylor, 23--Tattoo artist at House of Payne, specializing in beautiful, colorful, fantasy/cartoon artwork. Young, petite, bright, whimsical, ethereal. She can be a tad bit naive at times, but she's creative, smart, witty, and resourceful. A big fan of Alice in Wonderland. Thinks she hates Twist Santiago and his stubborn, opinionated ways.
"She’d never imagined what it might be like to kiss him. When it came to Twist Santiago, all her fantasy-time dealt with how best to kill him, and maybe where she should hide the body."

♦️REVIEW: After enduring years of Twist's overbearing and controlling ways at work, Angel has had enough and quits at House of Payne. While leaving the parking lot, she is attacked and Twist is there to rescue her. He refuses to let her recover on her own, and strong-arms himself into Angel's life. Angel has some funny and awesome friends, Novak and Joey who give her some great advice and help her see Twist and his actions a little more clearly. She quickly discovers that his controlling caveman ways are not based upon disrespect as she had always assumed but his need to protect and care for her and what he sees as "his".
“As long as I’m breathing, the world is a safe place for you. I swear it.”

He has wanted her from day one and only wants what's best for Angel but hasn't exactly gone about it the right way.
“I love you, too, little girl. I’ve wanted to tell you that for so long. So f***ing long. I’ve been suffering without you.”

Twist is one of the best, sweetest heroes I've read about!
"Hell, if he had a daughter, he’d be proud to spoil the s**t out of her and make sure she knew that she was the undisputed princess of his personal kingdom."

It was really sweet to watch these two "enemies" become an unbreakable team.

5 Beautiful Stars

I fell in love with Twist and Angel in Steele's book so I just HAD to go backwards to read their story and oh my.....it was so sweet and beautiful!

I loved how connected I felt to both Twist and Angel and what I really loved was how much of their emotions I could literally feel while reading. Once these two finally succumbed to their feelings....it was magic.

Twist, oh gosh, this beautifully tortured man, he was the best!!!! I loved and adored him from the start and by the end of the book my heart was overflowing with emotion for him and how much he worshipped and cherished his Angel. Angel, started off with a bang but I enjoyed seeing her soften to Twist and seeing how much he came to mean to her was equally beautiful!!!!!

I loved this story.
Angel is fed up, she joined the House of Payne knowing her talent had gotten her there, but when they take an idea of hers and refuse to let her be a part of it, she wants out. When she injures herself though, it just prolongs the inevitable. What Angel doesn't expect is Twist inserting himself into her life and taking care of her.

Twist has let his sour mood for Angel lead his actions toward her, he wants her and has since the first day he saw her. Believing she was too young, he has bided his time, but time is up now and all he is doing is confusing Angel. Angel believes Twist hates her now twist has to show her a softer side, but when someone from his past seeks out revenge he does everything he can to protect her.

This was my favorite so far in the series. I liked Twist, he is total alpha male and is trying to take care of Angel in the most caveman types of way. Angel is sweet and just like her name describes, when Twist decides to take care of her it is hilarious. Excellent read.

Twist is the third book in the House of Payne series by Stacy Gail, it can be read as a stand-alone, but the whole series is amazing so you're insane if you don't start from book one!

I think the author is just trying to ensure I never sleep again. I can't stop with these books and Twist is no different. I swear I start with the I'll just read for an hour mentality and then I realize I haven't moved in three hours and the book is nearly finished!

Twist and Angel are so volatile together. So much push and pull... well, more like shoving -- stubborn characters just don't know what is best for them. Love, love, love!

There are very few books/series that stick out after I've finished reading, I hardly ever remember character names -- I suck like that -- but with each one of these books I can not only remember the character's names, but I can still feel their struggles and get excited about their world all over again. Twist is a must read!

Oh Twist you about broke my heart! Such a protective, good guy that doesn't think he's good enough. He aggravates Angel his co-worker every chance that he gets. She's just a little thing and looks like an angel. She's had it with him, she is done. She just can't take it anymore.

When circumstances put them together and she can't say no to his help, she see's him in a different light. He actually takes the time to talk to her not so much as at her. Will she be able to see what's right in front of her?

Will Angel be able to make Twist see that he's not the bad man, that he's her prince?

EEP seriously in love with this series. There are typos in each book but not enough to pull me out of the story.
